    James Kern’s tattoo adventure started in 1994, while attending art school in Chicago. At the time, he discovered tattooing and the work of famous tattoo artists he admired in the pages of tattoo magazines (this was before the internet). It was for him a revelation and an inspiration because magazines showcased mostly quality ink. While perusing these publications, Kern realized that skin was a very unique art medium and that it opened almost endless artistic horizons in tattooing.

    A prominent figure on the international tattoo scene, Shane O’Neill, began tattooing by chance, to help his brother out and to help friends who were looking to get free ink. He has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Philadelphia University of the Arts and was an illustrator until the needle and ink came to call. He originally knew nothing about tattooing, didn’t have any interested in it, and was far from ever imagining that it would some day become a successful career. Sometimes you do someone a favor and it ends up leading you up the path you least expected.

    Stéphane Chaudesaigues in Caldaguès. Stéphane Chaudesaigues has just acquired the Raynal house and property, in the middle of our burg. While watching a television program when he was 7 years old, the kid from Versailles understood there was a backstory associated with his last name; one having something to do with a town where underground waters come up to the surface and emerge the hottest in all of Europe. He wanted to know more about his singular last name and why it was hard to spell.

Behind this international event is Stéphane Chaudesaigues, a 44 year-old french tattoo artist who reached out to 15 tattoo publications for support and promotion, from Paris to Philadelphia.
